What is a SpringerLink access token?
A token access code works similar to a coupon code or activation
code. Individuals may receive these if they have a personal paid subscription to a publication,
serve on an editorial board, or they are a member of a society or institution. If you have not
received such a token from Springer or MetaPress, than you can disregard this field when
registering or visiting the “My SpringerLink” page.

I have received a SpringerLink token access code or token URL. What should I do with it?
Tokens are primarily used to associate subscription information or
access rights with a user. If you have received a SpringerLink token with 12 characters
(example: ABC1-DEF2-XYZ3), you should log in at http://www.springerlink.com with the username
and password you created when registering as an individual. After you have logged in you will
click on “My SpringerLink” in the grey tool bar and then select “Enter Token” from the drop
down menu or navigation area on the left side of the screen. You can then enter the token
access code you received. Tokens are not case sensitive and may or may not be entered with
hyphens.
If you received a SpringerLink token URL (example: http://www.springerlink.com/?ABC1-DEF2-XYZ3) you
will simply click on the URL or copy and paste the URL into your address bar of your browser.
You will then be prompted to login with your existing username and password or enter your email
address. After you have logged in, you will receive a confirmation that you have successfully
used the token. You will not need to use your token again.
